This is the most unusual portfolio of the month. It is titled Textile Works and is by Alexis Vasilikos. He presents it as follows:
“Textile Works” is part of the broader series titled “Anchoritic Works” (2020–ongoing).
The title marks a clear departure—both conceptually and stylistically—from the earlier photographic works and their associated narratives, reflecting my interest in withdrawal and the non-narrative in image-making. Formally, I would categorize this series as abstract meta-photography, where the materiality of digital textures intertwines with the complexity of imaginative weaving, all while subtly referencing the legacy of minimalist painting. – Alexis Vasilikos
