Fallen Angels
‘FALLEN ANGELS’ began in Bangkok in 2015 and grew slowly over ten years. The project portrays Thai transgender women I met and photographed in different parts of the city, including apartments, hotel rooms, streets, rooftops, railway stations, markets, and quiet interiors.
The work is built on trust, time, and individual encounters. I was not interested in turning the women photographed into symbols. I wanted to make portraits that allow each person to appear with presence, beauty, complexity, and dignity.
Most photographs were made in available light, with minimal intervention, allowing the images to stay close to the atmosphere of the moment. The project moves between intimacy and distance, strength and fragility, performance and private life.
The title FALLEN ANGELS is intended poetically rather than judgmentally. It refers to beauty, fragility, and lives that are often misunderstood.
In 2026, the work was published as a 204-page photobook, bringing together portraits, interiors, city fragments, and quiet visual pauses. Rather than presenting a single story, the book creates a space where many lives, moods, and encounters can exist side by side.
