The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, in partnership with SEK International University, is pleased to announce the launch of the 2026 edition of its Environmental Photography Award competition.

Created in 2021, the Environmental Photography Award is one of the pillars of the Foundation’s Green Shift Initiative, dedicated to highlighting inspiring ecological stories. Across five categories, the competition recognizes photographers committed to promoting conservation and raising awareness of environmental protection:

Ocean
Forests
Polar Regions
Changemakers
Humanity vs. Nature

Entries close: Sunday, November 2, 2025
Register online: www.fpa2photoaward.org

The winners in each category will receive a prize of €1,000. Among them, the winner of the 2026 Grand Prize, chosen by the jury, will receive an additional €5,000 prize and a trip to Monaco to receive this award.

In addition to the category winners, a Public Prize and a High School Students’ Prize will also be awarded, each with a €500 prize. The Public Prize winner will also be offered the opportunity to visit the SEK International University research station in the Amazon rainforest of Ecuador.

The official selection of 36 photographs and the winners of the 2026 edition will be revealed in mid-April 2026.

An exhibition of these photographs will be presented in the Principality of Monaco during the summer of 2026, before traveling internationally. As in previous editions, a book bringing together all the selected images and their explanatory texts will be published by Skira Paris.

In keeping with the Foundation’s awareness-raising mission, Olivier Wenden, Vice President and CEO, emphasizes: “Photographers have a unique ability to translate the urgency of today’s environmental challenges into a universal language that touches hearts and inspires action. Through this Award, we aim to amplify their voices and give their stories resonance beyond the conservation community.”
