Eyes Wide Open is launching the fourth edition of the Bourses du 1er Livre Photo, aimed at photographers who wish to propose a first book project with the support of an independent French publisher!
Initiated, designed and organized by the Eyes Wide Open association (the cultural production entity of The Eyes label), with support from the French Ministry of Culture and SAIF, the First Photobook Grants program is intended for photographers who wish to propose a first book project with the support of an independent French publisher.
The First Photobook Grants program aims to provide first photobooks and the publishers supporting them with assistance in bringing their project to fruition. This support scheme is divided into three categories, each resulting in the award of a grant of €5,000, all taxes and charges included, to one winner:
SAIF Grant dedicated to a French photographer or a photographer residing in France
Grant dedicated to a woman photographer of any nationality
Grant dedicated to a photographer from a country in the “Global South” (Africa, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, Latin America, the Middle East)
Call for applications: from February 17 to May 17, 2026
Project selection: June 2026
Announcement of the 3 winners: June 2026
Publication of the book: no later than November 30, 2027
3 grants worth €5,000 will be awarded to the winners!
