Awen
“We must believe that there is something beyond the manifest, the visible.”
Awen is a Welsh and Breton word that refers to divine inspiration. This term is also used in Druidism to evoke the connection with the divine.
It also symbolizes the very essence of Druidism, a statement that is both simple and deeply complex, signifying the omnipotence of nature.
In this ancestral tradition, all elements of the universe are closely linked, and all forms of life are considered sacred. It is at the heart of nature that followers of Celtic shamanism connect with the spirits. All elements of nature are therefore revered, and rituals related to the cycles of the seasons are performed there. Mystical and initiatory places. Druids thus look
at the stars “like islands in the ocean of night” to understand and organize the forces that govern life on earth. Animals have a unique place in these beliefs, both symbolic and sacred.
The visible and invisible are thus intrinsically linked. Mystery, spirituality, and magic define these traditional practices, which are still alive today.
Far from the clichés attributed to Druidism or Celtic shamanism today, their practice can also be a solitary, exploratory, and initiatory quest.
