What Remains

I wasn’t trying to tell the story of a breakup.
I was interested in what comes after.
Not the event.
Not the narrative.
But what persists.
What remains when the noise fades.
When words are no longer useful.
When only the body is left to speak.
This series was born from a need to release something.
Not mine.
Hers.
I didn’t direct a scene.
I followed a movement.
Something trying to emerge, without really knowing how.
There were silences.
Tensions.
Gestures appearing without warning.
Then a rise.
Almost imperceptible at first.
Then clearer.
Until it became impossible to contain.
The scream arrives as a rupture.
But it is not an ending.
It is a passage.
What interested me was not the explosion,
but what it leaves behind.
A body still moving through something.
A gaze that doesn’t know where to settle.
A different presence.
Nothing truly closes.
Nothing fully resolves.
But something has shifted.
And sometimes, that is all that remains.
