Until April 3rd, the Matmut Centre for Contemporary Art is hosting and exhibition bringing together the works of two photographers: Derrière les Apparences by Camille Doligez and Les Formes du Chaos by Jean Gaumy. Camille Doligez recently photographed “her” town. Her tight compositions concentrate on the shop windows, the open spaces, the unusual objects seen through the shutters, the windows, transparent, or superimposed reflections. People are absent or in the distance. No activity, stillness. She is also presenting a second older series, always in direct contact with the real, and with an almost “baroque” construction.
Her way of composing, relies in great part on the making of her many notebooks, the range of work she did for more than 20 years, long before she started to take photographs.
