Galerie L’ANGLE presents, starting May 1st, ” L’écho des sentinelles “, an exhibition by Patxi Laskarai. Didier Mandart of L’ANGLE writes:
The stones murmur. The light awakens their echo.
They rise, black silhouettes on the horizon, seeming born of a petrified shadow. Phantom guardians of the memory of places, they carry within them myths forgotten in the strata of time, which the glimmers captured by the photographer might awaken.
Patxi Laskarai captures these specters through a play of superimpositions in which each layer reveals on paper a fragment of eternity.
But his superimposed images do not freeze the moment: they make it vibrate.
The mineral becomes transparent, light draws uncertain forms there, featureless faces that seem to murmur lost names, suspended gestures like unfinished prayers, slender doorways like offerings to the eternal stars, circles that never quite close, like interrupted dances.
Listening to the whisperings of stone, Patxi Laskarai’s photographs create visual echoes that resonate between shadow and clarity. He makes each of his images an apparition, a breath between two worlds, a moment in which matter lets the invisible filter through, in which the present allows itself to be traversed by what once was, in which light becomes the secret language of silent things.
