East Side Of The Cloud

“East Side Of The Cloud” is the part of this continent that is not visible from the west. The one on the other side of the “Cloud”.

Inspired by Butoh choreography, this series explores the emotions linked to trauma, the unrepresentable and surviving with …

These Japanese dances appeared in the 1960s, at the end of the war which left this civilization without a voice, condemned to the silence of introspection. Muffled cries. Silences that sometimes become deafening.

Beyond the metaphor, this is indeed the confrontation with any traumatic situation. These emotions range from fear to bewilderment, from helplessness to anger and sometimes even madness.

Dark emotions which nevertheless remain marked with the seal of poetry and the sacred … Like a sigh …

The sentence of Boris Cyrulnik about resilience can find its full meaning here: “Anyone who has been around death is doomed to poetry”.
