Alone is a sequence of images (some of them are self-portraits) that are articulated as an interior monologue concerning the times we live in. The long period of social isolation is giving rise to unusual moods, such as the fear and the anxiety of leaving our home, the place that has made us feel safe for months. In the fear and anguish of leaving our environment, we discover new emotions with which to confront and deal with. Isolation, loneliness, thoughts become suffocating; we seek new inner paths to avoid succumbing, new directions, while time passes slowly. The window, the only eye on the outside: a female figure appears, despite everything, vibrant with life and light, while nature seems mysterious and incomprehensible.
Simona Nobili is an actress and a photographer based in Rome. She has worked in Italian film, television and theatre and she has acted, among others, for Marco Bellocchio and Giuseppe Tornatore. Over the years, Simona Nobili has been increasingly drawn to the art of photography and she holds a diploma in photography from the Roberto Rossellini Higher Institute of Cinema and Television in Rome. She uses both digital and analogue technique .
