Abstract – the book
I have just published (self-published) a book of photographs whose title is Abstract with a text by the psychoanalyst Alain Vanier. I think an excerpt from this text fits the introduction of this image sequence:
Abstract : A summary, but also an abstraction. Isn’t the abstraction of the image a way of revealing its hidden structure, the one that regulates its composition, the secret geometric arrangement of what is shown to us? To abstract is to aim at the concept, or rather, here, the idea by jostling the screen. – Alain Vanier
