Dreamlands

Dreamlands are a series of surreal photomontages. These art works were created in order to symbolically refer to fragmented dreams that often appear to us to fad in and out of any logical theme, order, or focus.

All of the montages were formed from various photos I have taken of buildings, landscapes, people, animals, and some of my three-dimensional art. Various combinations of these images were placed together into my computer where they were often altered in certain ways, such as color change, shape change, and/or opacity change. In some cases, the original image of an object, a person, a three-dimensional art piece, or a landscape, has been altered beyond the point of their original recognition.

Often the opacity of some of these elements has been reduced to a point that they seem to be fading out of sight. In many of the photomontages, various natural and/or altered landscapes have been layered together one on top of another forming a surreal composite.

All of the Dreamlands photomontages are made up from a series of combinations of unexpected and often unrelated images.

All of these methods were used in the formation of the photomontages with the goal of creating art that will inspire the viewers to mentally venture into my Dreamlands and perhaps pay more attention to their own.
