Marc Melki : #AprèsLesViolences (en cours)

Preview

We showed you last year the first images of this series of Marc Melki.
He sent us new ones with these few words:

“While we are in the aftermath of the second round of the presidential election, a woman was again killed on April 14 by her ex-companion.
This is the 38th feminicide since the beginning of 2022..
And yet the subject of domestic violence was little mentioned by our politicians during this campaign…
Despite some notable advances, the results are not good, 113 women died under the blows of their spouse or ex-spouse in 2021, one every 3 days.
Society seems ready to take action against violence against women, but it lacks means and strong political will.”

“I was nine years old, and had a wonderfully happy childhood. Admittedly, I was not brought up by my parents, but that didn’t matter to me. I was loved, protected and pampered by my paternal grandparents. Life smiled on me , and I ate it to the fullest… But a monster, my mother’s father, crossed my path. He raped me, then prostituted me to his wealthy notable friends. I was only nine years old, and my innocent childhood was shattered forever! You can’t cure incest, you survive it…”

There is a before and an #afterviolence A #vincennes on March 17, 2022 ©Marc Melki “The sanction was not up to the act, there are special privilege for Pro or elite athletes. I would therefore like society to wake up and that justice be consistent with the suffering that these people inflict on those around them: women and children. There are many dysfunctions. Complaints must be dealt with immediately and no child should be handed over to a man. capable of disfiguring a vulnerable (pregnant) person, all the more so under the eyes of a three-year-old child. who have already survived this barbarism. I SPIT injustice, disarray without half measures, for this to change. We are fighting today to set an example, to show that we can pull through.”

Geneviève Richard, retired. “When I joined the association Led By Her, the support I received allowed me to regain confidence, to pass my exam as a graphologist, and to carry out my project: the edition of a book.
