I was brought to the fair as a young child, and these memories are both fascinating and melancholic.
I have been shooting fairs for the past five or six years, all around France.
My feelings towards fairs are still unchanged, partly fascinated by lights like a night butterfly, and partly sad when all attractions are still, under maintenance or being dismantled.
It is this duality, inherent in the fun fair world that i’ve tried to show with this pictures. It is also a testimony of today’s fun fair arts. And lastly, it is a tribute to a profession which is facing severe difficulties, today even more than ever.
