Back cover
Who are Les Gens d’images?
Founded in 1954 by Albert Plécy, the association brings together all those who, privately or professionally, are involved with still or moving images, whatever their medium. All types of images are a pretext for reflection and debate.
Creators, producers, broadcasters, curators, users, researchers and amateurs come together in the association to talk about their profession, their experiences, their research, etc.
This mix of diverse points of view is what makes their meetings and exchanges so unique.

Three photography awards
Every year since 1955, Les Gens d’Images has organised and awarded the Prix Niépce, France’s leading professional photography prize, and the Prix Nadar, which recognises the best photography book.
Created in 1999 with the HP France Foundation, the Prix Arcimboldo recognised the best digital creations in photography until 2013.

The association’s activities
Les Gens d’images organises monthly meetings – Cafés images and Workshops-Conferences.
