As part of the 3rd Biennale Art et Culture de la ville d’Aix en Provence, for which Italy is the guest country, Parallax will present at La Manufacture an exhibition by photographer Marino Parisotto.
Marino Parisotto stands as one of the most eminent and visionary figures in fashion photography of the 1990s and the first decade of the 21st century. His dialogue with the great houses of Made in Italy is one of the defining axes of his work. These collaborations helped forge an image of Italian style grounded in restraint, sensuality and symbolic density an image that has been widely disseminated and assimilated on a global scale.
His work unfolds in a liminal space where the image ceases to be a mere vehicle of representation and becomes a fully autonomous cultural apparatus capable of condensing and rendering the aesthetic and symbolic tensions of its time, at the turn of the century.
