The first edition of Photo-ArgentiK festival will take place in Champtoceaux / Orée d’Anjou (Maine-et-Loire) from July 6 to 16, 2018. The following editions are intended to “invest” other municipalities and sites of Orée d’Anjou. Through this event, the association “Orée en Arts” wishes to allow local public to have access to original works of recognized photographers, with quality exhibitions.
Honoring places and people
This first edition is an opportunity to revive the link between certain images and the places that inspired great photographers like Robert Doisneau, Roger Schall or Daniel Lebée: by “rendering” these photographs to the inhabitants of the region, the Photo-Argentik Festival recreates the link between artists and their sources of inspiration.
Put in perspective the photographic work of Alain Deltombe and Raoul Vaslin
For the 2018 edition, the Festival will also present unknown photographs of two “children of the country”: Alain Deltombe and Raoul Vaslin, both grandchildren of the painter Paul Deltombe. Echoing some of the works of other artists on display, these photographs are also a testimony of the relationship to the places where we live, sometimes without looking at what surrounds us.
Discover photographers combining modernity and aesthetic power
The PhotoArgentik Festival will give the general public the opportunity to discover other talented photographers. In particular, the impertinence and humanism of Jean-Claude Beaumont’s Parisian walks will be honored and the mystery and fragility of Patrick Taberna’s images.
Two emerging names in contemporary photography will also be discovered this summer at Champtoceaux / Orée d’Anjou. In partnership with the Argentic Gallery in Paris, the works of these artists will be visible for the first time in the region. Patrick Bréson reinterprets singularly the major themes of art such as landscape, body or still life. Samuel Cueto presents a work that is both powerful and moving, testimony of everyday life in Thai gangs. His portraits give off a force that captivates the eye and can not leave indifferent.
Free access every day on outdoor sites.
