Organic Dances

In this series, the eye wanders through the subtle, almost imperceptible movements of aquatic buttercups, where elements blend and dissolve into an endless dance.
Through the lens of photography, Ambre Guinard seeks to freeze these fluid, fleeting moments and capture the unexpected beauty of the materials and motions that shape the natural world.
Each image is an attempt to make the invisible visible, to grasp the poetry of the living, where water and organic forms seem to twist and transform in a ballet of light and reflections.

The buttercups, floating on the water’s surface, become the performers of a fascinating spectacle—like fragments of a parallel reality.
The interplay of transparency, light, and texture invites a sensory experience in which the viewer is immersed in a dreamlike, destabilizing space. It is within this fluidity, this alchemy between matter and the liquid element, that trompe-l’œil effects and visual illusions emerge, challenging our perception.

Each photograph becomes a fragment of this captivating journey—an exploration of the shifting boundaries between abstraction and representation.
The organic forms, both delicate and powerful, unfold and contract in a choreography of strange, almost unreal beauty.

This series is an invitation to slow down, to look closely, and to be carried away by their hypnotic movement.

The complete Organic Dances series is published in the artist’s book Morceaux choisis.
