Each year, the Residence 1 + 2 Toulouse “Photography & Sciences”, brings together three photographers for a residence of two months. For its 4th edition, supported in their research by scientific institutions and partners (the CNRS Occitanie, the Cité de l’Espace, the ISAE SUPAERO school) and researchers based in Occitania, in Toulouse and its metropolis, the photographers Matthieu Gafsou, Matilda Holloway and Manon Lanjouère are honored.
Video artist Citizen JiF joined them in making a creative film about the paths of their respective research. The French astrophysicist, Sylvestre Maurice accompanies the photographers as a sponsor 2019. A box of 3 books, entitled “Elegies” is published for the occasion at Editions Filigranes.
The fruit of this residency, unpublished in France, will be presented at an exhibition and a national conference on the theme “Photography & Science” and several other highlights mark this inaugural week.
The National Colloquium “Photography & Science” will be held on Saturday, October 12 from 8:30 am to 6 pm at the Théâtre de la Cité (1, rue Pierre Baudis – Toulouse) with many guests.
