In 2013 Liam Maloney went to sevaral refugee camps in Syria and Labanon his series Texting Syria is formed of portraits of individuals lit up by the light from their smartphone screens: they are exchanging messages with their loved ones. The presentation allows the relationship between these portraits and the messages as they were drafted to be experienced.
