The Marrakech Photography Festival announces the winners of its Open Call.
The Marrakech Photography Festival announces the twenty photographers and visual artists selected following its Open Call for the 6th edition of the festival, which will take place from 7 to 10 October 2026 in Marrakech.
Hundreds of applications from every continent were submitted, reflecting the vitality of contemporary photography and the growing appeal of our festival as a venue for encounter, dialogue and discovery. Given the richness and diversity of the proposals received, the selection process was both thrilling and demanding.
The selected projects encompass a wide range of photographic styles documentary, conceptual, intimate, environmental and humanist they address the major issues of our time: memory and identity, the climate crisis, migration, social justice, faith, belonging and impermanence. Together, they form a striking panorama of contemporary global photographic creation.
Each winner will benefit from a three-part visibility programme: a print exhibition as part of the OFF programme at the Rencontres d’Arles Galerie Triptyque, 12 rue Jouvene, from 3 to 20 July 2026; a video presentation of their series at the Rencontres de la Photographie Marrakech (Meydene, M Avenue, 7–10 October 2026); and a dedicated publication on the festival website.
Marrakech, a city at the crossroads of worlds, eras and cultures, is the ideal setting to welcome these voices from some twenty countries. We extend our most sincere congratulations to each of the winners, and our warmest thanks to all those who responded to our call.
