Aerial Bodies
“Aerial Bodies” is an ongoing photographic series that explores stillness as a counter force against the relentless pace and pressures of modern life. From an aerial perspective, the series frames the human body in direct dialogue with natural landscapes, offering a visual pause in a world marked by urgency and over stimulation.
In this series, unretouched figures are placed gently within calming environments, often accompanied by land art created on site. Here, the body is freed from the demands of productivity, performance or utility, existing instead in a state of pure presence.
The aerial view underscores this sense of presence by creating a distance that reveals vulnerability. From above, the human form appears small and temporary, on equal footing with the grass, sand and water that surround it. The images hold a quiet tension, capturing both fragility and resilience, the feeling being held by the earth while also exposed upon it.
Aerial bodies is more than an escape from the chaos of modern life; it is an act of resistance and care. It invites viewers to slow down, to reflect on their own physical presence and to reconnect with the meditative power of nature. In a world that often treats our bodies & minds as tools for achievement, these photographs remind us of the beauty and necessity of stillness.
