Ian McFarlane, You Don’t Know How It Feels

Preview
In todays over sexualization of young woman the overwhelming number of sexual assaults are being exposed.
I ask her to stop, to freeze, to stand in her reality.  Be yourself, no judgment or expectations, be free of all the weight and fear that surrounds you.
My goal for this series was to return to a bare bones approach to shooting honest and pure portraits.  No reflectors, diffusors or lights, just our natural surroundings, with the air and light holding us tight. Over the last 11 months i photographed 20 subjects. We drove and explored the surrounding landscapes, revealing and sharing moments and stories of joy and pain.
