François Santerre, Aisthesis

Preview

This series took shape during night walks in the thirteenth arrondissement of Paris. This is a very new area, neon-lit and deserted at night. The colors belong only to such modern place. The series is built as a depression through colors and materials. With these images, I wanted to examine the limits of figuration, as far as the limits of photography. The relationship of photography with the real is blurred here. Yet these are street pictures, even though I’m the only one that can testify. Ultimately, these images are not stories and without anecdotes. It is only about color, material and sensations (Greek Aisthesis).
