The Parisian bookstore l’Inaperçu and Éditions Louis Vuitton are organizing the signing of Texas by Sean Thomas on Thursday, April 27.
American photographer Sean Thomas paints a portrait of a colorful Texas, as folkloric as it is authentic, punctuated by cowboy boots, ranches and blazing sunsets. Fascinated by cowboys and cowgirls since he was a child, Sean Thomas travels the great Texan spaces to meet these men and women, emblematic of America, at rodeos and animal fairs, where cows and horses reign supreme. Beyond the clichés, the photographer also gives a glimpse of a less expected Texas, carried by Houston and Marfa, temple of American modernism, minimalist trend. A gallery of atypical personalities, a lot of Stetson hats, and an American way of life punctuated by country music follow one another throughout the pages, where the emblematic figure of John Wayne hovers.
