Pierre Leblanc presents his exhibition “Passeurs de mémoire (s)”: A trip to Auschwitz, until July 1, 2019.
November 18, 2018, I was part of a delegation of 135 inhabitants of Montreuil who went to Poland, on the site of the concentration camps and extermination of Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II – Birkenau. In partnership with the Shoah Memorial, the city of Montreuil organizes each year this memorial trip.
Following this memory trip, the Department of Cultural Development of the city of Montreuil offered me the realization of this exhibition. During this day, I took many pictures, as if to keep a distance between my eyes and what he was witnessing. Today, these photographs will testify to the horror of this place where more than a million women, children and men were deported and murdered.
This exhibition, presented on 27 panels, also retraces, in the form of written testimonies, the memory path made by all these inhabitants of Montreuil. The entire exhibition will be accompanied by historical contents.
