Solar fiction – 2026
This photographic series was produced in Miami Beach, an iconic territory shaped by a seaside imaginary defined by its Art Deco architecture, palm trees, and colorful lifeguard towers.
Initially inspired by the aesthetics of postcards and vernacular photography from the 1950s, the project gradually moves away from these references to develop a more graphic and contemporary visual language. The setting becomes a space of lines, rhythms, and colors in which the body fully integrates itself.
Through deliberately tight framing, the work explores the formal relationships between architecture, the body, and objects. The straight lines of the lifeguard towers interact with the curves of the ball, a recurring motif that runs through the series as a visual thread. Through the verticality of its lines, the female body becomes a form in its own right, extending and reshaping the surrounding space.
The styling, composed of pastel-colored swimsuits and accessories, echoes the architectural palette and situates the images within an imaginary that is at once seaside-inspired, retro, and contemporary.
Created at dawn, the photographs capture a crisp and radiant light. Situated between fine art photography and editorial imagery, the series constructs a solar fiction in which architecture, body, and color come together to create a graphic landscape illuminated by light.
The series received an Honorable Mention in the Fashion and Beauty category of the FotoSlovo International Photography Awards in 2026.
