Trained as an architect, photography has always been both a passion and a tool in my professional life.

My wife from St Nazaire introduced me to fishing. We have a residence in the region. So we never miss the high tides.

I fish more for photos than for clams. The wide-open spaces of Pointe du Bile have always fascinated me, and I never tire of photographing the bouchots. The light changes from one day to the next, and the sea is higher or lower. The site is immense, and the viewpoints are varied, so it’s difficult to convey the full extent of the site.

In this exhibition, which covers more than 10 years of photography. I’ve used many different cameras: film, digital and even iphone.

The choice of black and white accentuates the graphic aspect of the compositions. Some photos are naturally in black and white, the only colors being the buoys or pennants on the stakes at the end of the bouchot line.

In the end, Pénestin’s bouchot mussels are by far my favorite. And a good dish of clams and cockles is a real treat.
It’s the combination of the pleasures of the palate and the sight, the only thing left is the sense of smell, which can’t be transmitted.
