Ephemeral Jewels
It’s magical to discover the dew that adorns nature with ephemeral jewels on certain mornings.
Rivers of diamonds on webs of dew, delicate pendants, cascades of pearls…It’s these jewels of Mother Nature that I’ve chosen to present to you here.
A love affair with dewdrops
Dewdrops have always fascinated me. They were my very first macro photographic subject.
These jewels of an instant, mirrors of reality in all their transparent brilliance, or metallic pearls under the effect of frost, remind us how ephemeral life is.
And also, as Albert Einstein said, that “there is more perfection in a single drop of water than in all the machines created by man”.
Immortalize ephemeral diamonds
Capturing dew against the light also offers the opportunity for beautiful compositions, when the sun rises and makes these water diamonds sparkle, bathing them in a golden light.
That’s how magic is revealed, in the simplest or most seemingly ordinary things that we don’t always pay attention to.
So, let’s let ourselves be carried away by the magic of these ephemeral jewels…
