Irina Ionesco left her mark in the small world of twentieth century photography.
With her shots in frozen settings from the olden time – associated with costumes that were not really intended to protect against bad weather and with her instinct to embellish the photographic rendering, this scandalous designer had attracted the admiration of the cultural world before attracting the wrath of our society which had changed its bearings.
The political current, the religions, the morals, the ideas evolve which is the proof that civilizations live; however, the image fixed by light, at a precise moment, remains a testimony as rich as it is indelible. The Auto-da-fé bring nothing, they are just memory loss.
