Students on the Master’s in Photography programme are organising an exhibition entitled ‘Ancrage(s)’.
In September 2025, the students responded to a commission from the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations on the theme of housing and visited various accommodation facilities: care homes for the elderly, guesthouses, student flatshares, hostels and emergency shelters. From these locations, they embarked on a sensitive project, seeking to accurately capture the residents’ experiences.
Set against this backdrop, Ancrage(s) is a group exhibition showcasing the various photographic investigations carried out between October and December 2025. Fifteen students, fifteen unique projects, evoking vastly different realities and ways of inhabiting the present with, without, or in opposition to the past.
Beyond the physical locations, Ancrage(s) invites us to discover life paths that question our ability to rebuild ourselves. Whilst some recount their attachment to a territory they are leaving or settling in, others guide us through derelict gardens that become the canvas for gardens of the imagination.
