Living With the Bear
Living With the Bear is a long-term photographic project from Indian-administered Kashmir examining the growing proximity between humans and wild animals, particularly black bears, as forests shrink and human settlements expand. Rather than focusing on moments of encounter or violence, the work documents what follows injury, recovery, fear, and the quiet reorganization of daily life after an attack. Moving between homes, hospitals, and landscapes, the photographs observe coexistence as a lived condition shaped by uncertainty and endurance.
