The Hulett Collection : The Ethereal Worlds of Emma Hartvig

Preview

Emma Hartvig’s photographs balance between dreamlike elegance and bold confrontation. Known for her ethereal depictions of masked women, illuminated figures, and weightless swimmers, her work transforms the female form into something both enigmatic and empowered.

Through carefully composed imagery, Hartvig plays with light and shadow, reflection and concealment—inviting the viewer to question the boundaries between self-perception and societal expectation. Her figures, whether suspended in water or framed by glowing light, exist in a liminal space, untouched yet deeply expressive.

Hartvig’s work has been featured in publications such as AnOther Magazine and Die Zeit, and she will present two solo exhibitions in the U.S. in 2025 and 2026. Step into her world of quiet power and cinematic allure.
