September Gallery presents an exhibition of works by Nicole Cherubini, spanning 20 years of the artist’s cross-genre practice.
This is the first-ever presentation to highlight her long standing photography practice, in which she utilizes personal artifacts from her past to recreate formative memories, exploring the relationship between objects, identity, familial relationships, and gender.
Originally culled from her early 2000s archives, the photos on display were converted from color film to black and white and reprinted as silver gelatins. They will be assembled as a maximal wall installation, incorporating museum wax and color plexi, to reemphasize their sensual, dreamlike softness and play on materiality.
