Planches Contact Festival
Many photography festivals in France and elsewhere offer open-air exhibitions. The Planches Contact festival in Deauville is unique in that some of the exhibited works are displayed on the beach as very large prints.
Knowing the vast stretches of sand that are the Normandy beaches, one can’t help but feel attached to this moment that returns every autumn. Walking on the sand, whipped by the wind, drenched by a light rain, only to find oneself a few minutes later under a bright sun, gives this festival a very special character.
