New York : Robert Frank –Danziger Gallery

Preview

The Americans is one of the most beautiful books in the history of photography. But Robert Frank, hired at the end of the 1940s by Harper’s Bazaar as a fashion photographer, traveled regularly between America and Europe. These trips gave him the opportunity to exercise his talent in England, Wales and France, the sites of two other exceptional works. Even if one is familiar with Frank’s oeuvre, it’s always a pleasure to spend time admiring his sense of perception and composition, the historical importance of his photographs, and his sense of humor. We leave the exhibition moved by the mischievous look of a girl carrying a baguette on a Parisian street corner, and laughing at the image of a dog leaping through a London backyard.
