Preview

A call for photographic residency aims to select a photographer to produce a series inspired by the Citadel Miollis in Ajaccio. Candidate photographers are asked to propose a project taking into account the geographical location of the Citadel, its link with the rest of the city, its history, its future transformation and rehabilitation. The winning photographer will carry out a project having as an object of research and inspiration the appropriation of the site by the inhabitants, the citadel as a new place of passage and meeting. The photographic project will aim to interpret in an original way the Human being within this site so long closed to visitors. The completed project will take the form of a series of images that will be presented within the Citadel.

The artist will be accompanied by an exhibition curator in the design of an exhibition project for the 2022 season. The winning photographer is expected to (1) produce a series inspired by the Citadel Miollis, and its appropriation by residents and visitors (to be delivered no later than May 15, 2022); (2) host the winning candidate of the amateur photographic competition during a day in the citadel; (3) Design an exhibition system for the series within the citadel, jointly with the exhibition curator (being selected); (4) be present at the opening event of the exhibition of the series around June 15, 2022; (5) promote short tours and take into account the ecological impact concerning the production and installation of works.
