Lannoo Publishers : Larry Niehues : Mississippi Dream

Preview

Look past the blue skies of the Magnolia State to find a community rich in spirit. A tribute to the culture of the Deep South, French documentarian Larry Niehues captures sides of Mississippi far beyond its landscapes in his second book, Mississippi Dream published by Lannoo Publishers.

The birthplace of the Delta Blues, the center for the Civil Rights Movement in the South, Mississippi’s raw beauty is woven with its long history of social injustice. This passionate body of works captures a range of moments, from epic performances by Blues legends at iconic local Juke joints to more intimate settings.

Larry Niehues is a French-born author and photographer who immigrated to the US in 2010 and presently resides in Los Angeles, CA. While working as a commercial photographer for a variety of brands and publications, Mr. Niehues has tended to his passion for motorcycles, music, and the open road, traveling intensively over the last seven years creating the images that compose his two photography books.
