I live in the United States and have been traveling to China regularly over a number of years. What began as only business became something quieter, more enduring— an appreciation of the beauty of the country, in its cities and landscapes, in the lines of its architecture, the grace of its arts, and in the warmth of its people.
I often travel alone. And in a land so densely alive with motion and humanity, I have come to notice something more subtle—an undercurrent of stillness. Through my photography, I try not only to capture the visible beauty and kindness of the people there, but also the solitude that lingers within the crowd, the loneliness that can exist even in the midst of millions.
