Presented by La Galerie des Photographes, the exhibition Toutes les choses qu’elles portent curated by Katharina Holderegger, offers a reflection on what women carry today — not as something abstract or belonging to the past, but as a deeply living reality: intimate, social and symbolic.
It brings together four mother-artists from the United States, Western Europe and Eastern Europe. Their works move between universal figures such as motherhood, care and sacrifice, and the need to preserve a singular voice and a personal language. The exhibition offers no idealized answers; it acknowledges interruptions, compromises, fatigue and the complexity of real lives. It is decidedly a reading of the present: what women still carry, and the way they continue to exist without disappearing as subjects.
