Before the scorched earth

I photograph nature with a touch of impressionism, because at that time plant and animal life
was at its apogee in two centuries human stupidity has ruined the fragile balance of biodiversity now threatened.
Impressionism is both an aesthetic and a movement.
Aesthetically, it celebrates nature and the outdoors, rapid notation and vivid colours. From a sociological point of view, it refers to a group of artists
who chose to exhibit outside the official Salon between 1874 and 1886. This group consisted mainly of
Monet, Renoir, Degas, Pissarro, Caillebotte, Morisot, Cassatt… all nature lovers.
In 1874, the group’s first exhibition took place in the offices of the photographer Nadar, on the Boulevard des Capucines in Paris.
The fragile balance of biodiversity An important way to improve the state of our natural world is to better understand the main threats to biodiversity, scientists around the world have confirmed
that nature is declining at an alarming rate.
There are five direct causes of biodiversity loss:
Habitat loss is the most significant threat to biodiversity and puts all species at risk.
Pollution, including the use of chemicals, fossil fuels and plastics, is disrupting the Earth’s ecosystems and, in turn, threatening biodiversity.
Earth’s ecosystems, harming species and forcing them to change their habits.
Climate change is accelerating rapidly, affecting growth patterns,
food availability and migration patterns at a rate that exceeds the capacity of ecosystems and species to adapt.
Over-exploitation, i.e. the excessive harvesting of species at a rate faster than their natural reproductive capacity.
Invasive species, often introduced by man, can threaten native species and their ecosystems.

To avoid being the self-destructors of future generations of humans, animals and plants, we must remain vigilant!
