Around 3 or 4 am the party was ending. This young woman was getting ready to leave my favorite night-club in Kyoto. At first sight I was instantly struck by her radiance and her temperament.
I gave her my card and asked for her name.
In the course of our next encounters I came to appreciate her as a talented singer, dancer and actress.
Back home I had a look at her Facebook page and I was overcome with emotion : her voice was ample and superb.
The first shooting took place in downtown Kyoto and confirmed my intuition that this was definitely a major encounter. She emanated a special grace and a magnetic presence.
One year later some film maker made a documentary piece about my life between two cultures : the Western world and the Eastern world ( 47 stays in Japan ). The young brunette would obviously be a pivotal figure in this movie.
From there on whenever I go back to Japan I am delighted to continue my work with her.
I plan to put together a selection of her portraits to be published as a book.
Furthermore a limited printed portfolio is also in the making.
