LILLIPUT SQUATT

Small series of images that I took during a recent stay in a community of Lilliputians in one of these countries in northern Europe.

About 100 of these adorable people (80% women) live with their pets and livestock in a disused residential building slated for demolition. They live there in peace without religion, without hatred or violence, without leader or party, without Minister of Culture and without Covid.

Invited by a common friendship, their welcome was very kind and, as the days went by and our relations gained in confidence, they gave themselves the pleasure of posing for a few funny and memorable “shooting” sessions. . A few days later, feeling really too cumbersome physically, I left with regret. I thank them for their benevolence and dedicate these images to them.

All this reminds me of those few good words from Bernard Marcadé. “Art lies and because it lies it says something about the truth of this world, namely that the world is constructed of lies and illusions. ”
