Untitled (The Characters with Josette) is a work by Valérie Jouve which was acquired by the Centre National des Arts Plastiques in 1996. The image, made by the photographer when she began, is originally from the series “Characters”. In this work, the staging of the bodies of these men and women in their daily environments reveals the potential for revolt and resistance in the individual. This work is registered in the inventory of the National Collection of Contemporary Art that the CNAP has, as its mission, to enrich, conserve and disseminate.
