Billy Mork is a Singaporean photographer and founder of IMMAGINI, a photographic gallery and laboratory that specialises in archival quality Fine Art Black-and-White analogue photography and printing. Starting his career in the late 1970s as an art director in an international advertising firm, Billy left to study photography, graduating from Brooks Institute of Photography in the US, and then majored in black and white photography. In 1989, he earned a Masters in Fine Art Photography from UK Royal Academy of Fine Art, majoring in fine art photography and photography development.
Back in Singapore, Billy established a very large commercial photography studio which he managed from 1990 to 1994. The advent of digital photography somehow made Billy lose interest and he returned to school – this time to study Architecture in the United States. Since graduating in 2001, Billy has worked as an architect design consultant and architecture photographer. With Immagini, Billy is once again making good use of his skill and craftsmanship as a black and white developer and printer, servicing an international clientele.
His first solo photography exhibition in Singapore was supported by KODAK EASTERN (S) PTE LTD in 1990 with SubStation Gallery. This was followed by an exhibition in Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Taiwan in the mid 90s to 2000s. Currently, he has been selected to be one of the Singapore image photographers to work with YELLOW KORNER. He has also been invited to exhibit at Artshow Busan 2014, the only Photographer at the Singapore Pavilion.
