These portraits of people drowsy began in June 2015 in Taipei City. These are just ordinary people. They settle at a table in coffee shops to spend time in exchange for a drink. They wait, they study or play with their smartphones … Probably tired, and unable to resist the soporific music places their heads end up falling on the table. The flabby and inert bodies, forget their environment. Then begins their poses for an indefinite period. And these incongruous poses taken between the table and the chair on which they sit have become the focal point of my camera. Here’s how NAP COFFEE started. This series is still ongoing and currently has 37 sleepers.
