Centering on the publications of the Yan Morvan Archives — a singular editorial project that already encompasses more than twenty volumes — the exhibition offers a first look at a selection of images from Freedom, Northern Ireland (1981). This special edition, devoted to the funeral of Bobby Sands, brings together rare color photographs captured before and after the event. The series situates one of the most resonant human and political episodes of the past fifty years.
Alongside this, the presentation includes several cibachromes from the acclaimed series The Green Line — the forthcoming volume in the collection — shot with a large-format camera in 1985 along the demarcation line that once split Beirut in two.
Through this constellation of images and the complete display of publications, the exhibition offers an immersion into a body of work that traces the fracture lines of the contemporary world. It stands as both a commemoration and a continuation of Yan Morvan’s uncompromising vision, ensuring the vitality of a collection that has become essential.
