Festival Mesnographies #6

Preview

Les Mesnuls welcomes the festival Mesnographies which will take place from June 6 to July 19, 2026. The festival presents this edition as follows:

For this 6th edition, the Mesnographies festival reaffirms its commitments. Claire Pathé has chosen to focus on incest with a section entitled “I Believe You.” We are therefore presenting the stories of 7 photographers selected through a call for submissions. The 70 portfolios we received testify to the urgency and necessity of breaking the silence surrounding this hidden violence.

In connection with this focus, the Children Kintsugi Foundation is the patron of this edition.

Eleven photographic works on open themes accompany the focus. They are the result of the encounters and research carried out by the artistic direction throughout the year. Based on this research, our volunteers voted for the final selection during an annual evening.

This new edition of the Mesnographies festival invites the public to explore intimacy through varied paths: always deeply human, these paths are at times bruised, unsettling, funny or absurd.

From Ukraine to Australia, via Sudan and Italy, the photographers question our relationship to memory, youth, joy and suffering, revealing fragments of life that are both ordinary and extraordinary.

Some oppose the violence of the world with a smile, a touch of irony, a snub at death. Others probe old wounds by placing in their images the full weight of a long-standing malaise: abandonment, colonialism, war and exile.

The festival also gives significant space to our planet in crisis: fires that devour, water that is lacking or suddenly overflows, the visible traces of global warming. So many visual narratives that shape a sensitive panorama of our time.

The subjects dealing with global warming are presented to you under the title The Garden Is Not Closed. For the past 5 years, these exhibitions have taken place in Les Mesnuls park and in the surrounding villages in the form of off-site exhibitions.

In response to current events, the high school students of Lycée Jean Monnet chose to explore the theme of immigration for the photography workshops led by Claire Pathé during the school year.
