Cig Harvey : You Look At Me Like An Emergency

Preview

Robert Klein presents second solo show of work by Cig Harvey, whose monograph You Look At Me Like An Emergency will be released later this year. The exhibition will open with a reception on Saturday, May 19, from 2 to 5pm; Harvey will give a brief gallery talk and sign advanced copies of her book, which are available in a limited quantity through the gallery.

The exhibition includes a selection of prints from You Look At Me Like An Emergency, featuring new work alongside several of Harvey’s self-portraits from the early 2000s. As much a map of one woman’s emotional life as it is a catalog of psychological archetypes, You Look At Me Like An Emergency takes the viewer on a journey of rejection, hope, strength, loss and love to find a place called home. Watch a video preview of the book, narrated by Harvey herself, by clicking here.
Harvey lives in a renovated Maine farmhouse with her husband, Doug; their daughter, Scout; and their dog, Scarlet Snacks.
