Yanarienn
Yanarienn is a photographic project that began as a personal exploration through self-portraiture, but soon turned into something broader and deeper: a visual language through which to give form to inner visions and emotional states.
I rarely show my face, not to conceal myself, but because I feel that identity can also, and perhaps above all, emerge from details: a fold of fabric, a hand, an object carefully chosen.
Every element in the frame is imbued with meaning and contributes to an aesthetic that seeks to convey an emotion, a suggestion, a story.
The subjects of my photographs are often symbolic and ever changing: a dress, a fruit, a piece of jewelry, skin, light. Anything can become the protagonist, as long as it can speak a silent and profound language. My focus on visual balance is constant, but never an end in itself: my aesthetic research is always in service of introspection.
Each image is a small threshold between the inner world and the visible reality.
Nature is a recurring element in my work, particularly flowers, which captivate me with their fragile, ever-changing beauty. Even when dried, they continue to tell a story.
It is in that space between vitality and decay that I often find the atmosphere I seek: intimate, suspended, at times sacred. I love to evoke in my images a spirituality that is not religious, but visceral, made of symbols, gestures, and silences.
In this sense, hands have become a powerful expressive channel: through them, I can speak of myself without truly revealing myself.
I’m not interested in conveying a single, definitive message or guiding the viewer toward a fixed interpretation. What I hope is that the images can become an emotional space, familiar and safe, where each person might recognize something of themselves, even if just for a moment. My photography does not aim to explain: it wants to evoke, to suggest, to resonate.
